Jesus Christ is one of the most influential figures in human history — someone whose life, words, death, and resurrection changed the course of history forever. He is far more than a moral teacher or a prophet: he is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
Birth and Life
According to the Bible, Jesus was born about two thousand years ago in Bethlehem, to the virgin Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit. He grew up in Nazareth, in the land of Israel, in a humble family. Around the age of thirty, he began his public ministry — teaching the people, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and showing unmatched compassion toward sinners, the poor, and social outcasts.
His Teaching
The central message of Jesus was the “Kingdom of God” — an invitation to turn back to God, repent of sin, and live in love and forgiveness. He said:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Jesus named love for God and love for one’s neighbor as the two greatest commandments, and even called his followers to love their enemies.
Death and Resurrection
Jesus faced opposition from the religious leaders of his day and was ultimately crucified by the Roman authorities. He willingly gave his life to bear the punishment for the sins of all humanity. But the story did not end there: three days after his death he rose again, and this resurrection is the foundation of Christian hope and faith.
