“Gospel” means “good news.” That good news is simple yet profound: God loves humanity and has provided a way to save us from sin and separation.
The Problem: Separation from God
The Bible says that all people have sinned and fall short of God’s perfect holiness (Romans 3:23). This separation is the natural result of sin, and no human effort — good deeds, religion, or self-improvement — can undo it.
The Solution: God’s Love in Christ
Rather than leaving humanity without hope, God himself provided the solution:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus Christ, though sinless, gave his life on the cross to take the punishment for our sins upon himself. Three days later, he rose from the dead, conquering death itself. This is a free gift from God — not something earned by good works.
The Response: Faith and Repentance
Salvation is received by believing in Jesus Christ and accepting him as Savior and Lord of your life:
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
This is a personal decision — a simple, honest conversation with God, for example:
“God, I know that I am a sinner and need your help. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. I ask you to come into my life, forgive me, and be the leader of my life from today. Thank you.”
