I was born into a Sunni Muslim family and practiced the faith as my family’s tradition required, but because I didn’t know Arabic, I never grasped the depth of the Qur’an. Later, seeking to understand more, I attended classes on Islamic jurisprudence, but my questions went unanswered, and the religious scholars’ only response was “pure obedience.” Despite performing every religious duty, I felt emptiness, a lack of identity, and fear of an angry God; this eventually led me, despite fear and a guilty conscience, to leave Islam.

After that, I searched for the way through different schools of thought, mysticism, yoga, and meditation, but found nothing but disbelief and despair. Until one night I asked God from the depths of my heart: “Do you exist? If you do, why is there so much injustice in the world?”

That same night, I dreamed that a light came down from heaven to earth, and it became clear that it was Jesus Christ. That light exposed what was inside people, and I saw black, wolf-like beings that had taken hold of every person, the source of all wickedness and injustice. When I saw that I myself was possessed by one of them, I cried out to Jesus Christ for help. He appeared in that very moment and gave me the power to be freed from that being’s grip.

Some time later, as I was telling this dream to my friends, one of them suddenly collapsed, his eyes turned white, and he let out a roaring sound. When we called on the name of Jesus Christ, he was immediately freed and came to peace. This miracle proved to us the reality of those dark powers, and the power of Christ’s name over them.

From then on, by the power of Christ’s name, we witnessed many miracles, healings, and deliverances from evil spirits. In the end, we understood that Christ is God himself, who took on a body through a virgin woman, gave his life on the cross to pay for our sins, went to the realm of the dead, and rose from the dead after three days. Through this sacrifice, he removed the wall of sin between us and God, and by receiving this immense grace and free gift, we were set free from the grip of darkness, and anointed in God’s light, we became Christ’s own.
